Keynote speaker Justin Hager

As a 22 year old college student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Justin Hager is a rising voice in the LGBT community, especially in the Midwest. Having been kicked out of his church and the military after coming out 5 years ago, Justin has been on a mission to create an atmosphere of loving reconciliation and dialogue between LGBT communities and the “victims of misinformation” that often oppose us.

His experiences have ranged from being arrested by discriminatory Universities as part of the Soulforce Equality Ride to engaging in open dialogue with such faith leaders as Bill Hybels and the Willow Creek Community Church during the Soulforce American Family Outing.

Locally, Justin was a founding member of the Superior High School Gay-Straight Alliance, the first Youth Representative to the Superior City Council, and Wisconsin State Coordinator for the Soulforce Seven Straight Nights for Equal Rights Campaign. Currently he is serving as the Director of the first national “Out and Greek” Conference for LGBT members of Fraternities and Sororities sponsored by Campus Pride and the Lambda 10 Project.
