Annual Election of the Executive Committee

Join the Pride Team and be a leader! The annual election of officers for the 2019 pride festival will be held at the meeting on December 4th at the Main Club. Nominations are accepted at the October, November, and December meetings. You can self-nominate for a position. In order to vote, you must have attended at least 4 Pride Festival monthly meetings in the past year.

Main Positions and Descriptions to be Elected:

Pride Co-Chairpersons

  • Shall serve as Chief Executive Officers of Duluth Superior GLBTAQI2S Pride, Inc.
  • One or both shall preside at all general meetings and facilitate said meetings in an orderly
    fashion.
  • Shall enforce the rules and policies set forth by the General Committee and in the Corporate
    Bylaws.
  • Shall ensure fair discussion and consideration at meetings.
  • Shall serve the community to ensure the organization’s good reputation.
  • Shall appoint (with the advice of the General Committee) chairperson of subcommittees as
    necessary.
  • Shall assist committee chairs to ensure that they have all of the resources to carry out their
    duties.
  • Shall perform all duties incident to the office and other such duties as may be prescribed from
    time to time.

Secretary

  • Shall keep minutes of all general meetings.
  • Shall provide sufficient copies of the minutes of the previous general meeting at or prior to
    each proceeding general meeting.
  • Shall keep and maintain attendance records of all general pride committee meetings.
  • Shall be the custodian of corporate records and the corporate seal.
  • Shall serve the community to ensure the organization’s good reputation.
  • Shall perform all duties incident to the office and other such duties as may be prescribed from
    time to time.

Public Relations Coordinator

  • Shall represent the public face of the organization through email correspondence, social
    media interaction, print publication, and other mass media.
  • Shall maintain and update the media communications from the organization to the outside
    population
  • Shall serve the community to ensure the organization’s good reputation.
  • Shall perform all duties incident to the office and other such duties as prescribed from time to
    time.

Treasurer

  • Shall have charge, custody of, and be responsible for all funds of the corporation.
  • Shall receive and give receipts for the funds due and payable to the corporation.
  • Shall deposit all such funds in the name of the corporation.
  • Shall oversee budget.
  • Report and give copies of all monetary transactions to the Executive Committee.
  • Shall report financial status to the General Committee on a quarterly basis.
  • Shall serve the community to ensure the organization’s good reputation.
  • Shall perform all duties incident to the office and other such duties as may be prescribed from
    time to time.

Assistant Treasurer

  • Assist the treasurer
  • Aid in budget detailing
  • Verify all accounting and transactions with bank accounts
  • Shall serve the community to ensure the organization’s good reputation
  • Shall perform all duties incident to the office and other such duties as may be prescribed from
    time to time.
